Assistant General Manager – Maintenance

Jellystone Park of Sioux Falls is a family-owned and operated camping resort dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences. We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our team in the role of Assistant General Manger and contribute to the continued success of our resort. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader requiring a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to creating an enjoyable environment for our guests.

Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager will play a vital role in the daily operations of the resort, working closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This position requires a dynamic individual who can effectively manage staff, maintain the facilities and physical grounds, and cultivate positive relationships with our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Staff Supervision and Support:
  • Supervise, train, and motivate staff members across various departments (e.g., housekeeping, groundskeeping, guest services).
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address employee concerns.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment
• Grounds and Facilities Maintenance:
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the resort’s grounds, facilities, and equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance with internal staff and external contractors.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards and general maintenance repairs needed.
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Guest Relations:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all guests, addressing their needs and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints with empathy and professionalism.
  • Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction.
• Other Duties
  • Assist the General Manager in developing and implementing operational plans and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Manage reservations and handle guest inquiries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of general maintenance practices.
• Proven experience in a management or supervisory role, preferably in the hospitality or recreation industry.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A passion for providing exceptional guest experiences.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and in season holidays.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications.
• A positive attitude and a team-oriented approach.
